What is it about food that gets us all talking? Food started off as something that we needed simply to survive. Now we want indulgence, we want fantastic taste and we want choice. And why not? After all, we all deserve a treat or two to make life just that little bit better.
There is no doubt in our minds that one of the best ways to celebrate the goodness of food is by combining it with the sheer enjoyment of a festival.
However, with festivals lacking at this time of year, us food lovers here at the hospice are often left feeling a bit sad. How many times a day can we keep dunking those boring biscuits into our tea?
If like us, you’re left feeling empty without those tasty free samples and fantastic entertainment to fill up your weekend, then worry no further because in less than eight weeks time the Wrexham Food Festival is back! And, this year it’s bigger and better than ever before.
The weekend of the 13th and 14th May is going to be foodie heaven with the finest producers from across Wales, and further afield, selling their unique and very tasty produce.
So, crack out your diaries and prepare to get planning some food-fuelled festival fun!
The 2017 festival has a distinctly international flavour, with chefs and producers descending on the beautiful green landscape of Llwyn Isaf, Wrexham. Talented chefs will be sharing their passion and expertise with you in our demonstration kitchen, including founder of Saddleworth Cheese and author of The Great Northern Cookbook, Sean Wilson.
From Saturday to Sunday, you can shop, taste, cook, order your favourite treats and swap recipes until you drop! We’re excited just thinking about it. Mouth-watering local produce, cooking demonstrations, recipe ideas plus FREE car parking courtesy of Wrexham County Borough Council – all make the perfect ingredients for the 2017 spectacular.
If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, there will also be an eclectic mix of music to provide a great backdrop to the weekend’s events, with special guests including the Tenovus Cancer Care Choir and live entertainment from FOCUS Wales.
All in all the perfect mix for a fabulously fun, foodie weekend for the whole family. Wouldn’t you agree?
